Foundation Award

Congratulations to M6CIM who has received his Bronze, Silver and Gold Foundation Awards.  Well done and keep logging!  Since achieving this award Phil has progressed onto the Intermediate course & is now the proud owner of the station call of 2E0CWE aswell as stating to work towards the Advanced Licence.

bronze awardThis award is for holders of UK ‘Foundation’ callsigns only and is designed to encourage activity using CW, SSB, AM

and FM simplex modes.

It is available for contacts made during the ‘first year of being licensed’ only!

There are three attainment levels to the award.

  1. Bronze – 50 Points
  2. Silver – 75 Points
  3. Gold – 100 Points

Points system Bandssilver

50 & 144 MHz bands – 1 point / QSO
70 & 432 MHZ – 2 point / QSO

All claims must include a log extract certified by a Foundation Instructor, an RSGB affiliated club official, or two licensed amateurs.

Anyone interested in achieving this award should check the Award Rules and contact the Clubs Lead Instructor for verification of thier log book.  You only get a year to achieve this award, so now is the time to start!

    Well done Phil mate both on the awards and the 2E0.
    I’m off to find my antenna book as we don’t have wire in the air that will cover these wavelengths currently and I’m still not convinced that the Baofeng can transmit beyond the end of the street. =)
