I am proud and pleased to announce to all members that Sherwood Amateur Radio Club is to be awarded Region 13 Club of The Year and have been entered into the finals for the National COTY.
Thanks to the dedication, passion and hard work of the founder and lead instructor Edward M0EPR, the club made its first steps in 2011, with the aim to bring Amateur Radio to the community and introduce the hobby to a wide range of people. Gradually SARC attracted more and more members, expanded its events, promoting Amateur Radio throughout the region.
And here we are now, Regional Centenary Club of the Year! A huge thank you to those members who believed in the club and have been with us since the very beginning as well as our newest members who are just as eager in finding out what Amateur Radio is all about.
This achievement motivates us as a club to continue working hard in favour of the promotion of Amateur Radio in our region.
The award will be officially presented in a ceremony by the Regional Manager from the RSGB during our next field event in the near future.
